KSM Vision Establishment

KSM Vision was established in 2012 by a group of students, including doctoral students, of the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics at the Warsaw University of Technology. We were guided not only by the ambition to set up our own company (an academic start-up at the time), but also the willingness to implement the latest technologies in industry, that were developed at the university and to test them in real life conditions.

In its initial period, the company provided specialized services for measuring shape, displacement, and deformation, as well as dedicated measurement systems based on the following methods: Digital Image Correlation, Structured Lighting, laser scanning or Laser Triangulation. Our clients included companies such as Tauron Wytwarzanie SA, Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sp. z o.o., Grupa Azoty SA, Veolia Warszawa SA, or Space Research Centre (Polish Academy of Sciences).

1st grant from NCRD (NATIONAL CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT)

KSM Vision received a grant from the National Centre for Research and Development for the implementation of R&D works in the form of industrial research and development works, aimed at developing and optimizing automated vision systems for quality control of pharmaceutical and food products. The Scope of Work included: study of image analysis algorithms, defect classification and machine learning, study of design solutions, as well as product development based on the results of those studies.

Completion of the MIT Enterprise Forum Acceleration Program

We have completed an acceleration program based on the know-how of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. We participated in a 3-month-long intensive workshop sessions and refined the business model under the supervision of Polish and international mentors.

Obtaining a patent for the Optical System for the Quality Control of Liquid Closures

Our innovative technical solutions improve the quality of collected data and, consequently, increase the effectiveness of quality control on the production line. We have obtained patent protection for the design of the Inspect360 + head. Our solution allows to control the closures of liquid packages in the range of 360ᵒ using only one camera. The system is therefore smaller, more efficient and provides greater accuracy in defect detection.

1st Commercial Installation on the production line!

We have designed and implemented a quality control solution on six production lines of the MLEKOVITA Group (the largest group of dairy companies in Central and Eastern Europe with over 90 years of tradition). The systems were designed in various configurations, depending on the production requirements of individual lines. Each system is equipped with defective product rejection stations.

Acquiring the investment fund of the Business Angels

We obtained funds for further development from the Business Angels of Cobin Angels. The investment will allow to build a sales department and gradually increase the scale of operations, among others by expanding the product portfolio with new solutions and marketing activities.

2nd grant from NCRD (NATIONAL CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT)

We received a NCRD grant for the implementation of a project of innovative optical systems for quality control in packaging processes in pharmaceutical and food industries.

Vigo Ventures invests in KSM Vision

Vigo Ventures, an investment vehicle of Vigo System listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and of Warsaw Equity Group, invested PLN 9 million in KSM Vision. The funds will be allocated for servicing new customers in Poland and abroad, as well as further development of technology and systems portfolio.
